History of ownership/residents and use | Records reveal correspondence between Mr E. W. Edgell and Mr Hollis concerning the original lease in early 1823. Until the Poor Law amendment Act of 1834 the poor were the responsibility of each individual parish. After the Act Egham became part of the Windsor Poor Law Union. Between 1843 and 1858 part of the building was converted for use as a police station. |
